My transformational journey at UBS during the pandemic
My transformational journey to become a professional in this corporate world began with my visit to Universal Business School. I witnessed the lush green environment which made me feel relaxed. The lobby of the campus, classroom, library, and the most important part is the Stock Trading Room. I was so excited to see all this, and at that time I could not wait to start my journey to the campus. The most admirable thing is UBS vision and mission. They firmly believe in three 3E’s: Environment, Ethics and Experiential Learning.
Suddenly this
pandemic broke out and I was disappointed that I could not go
to campus when a complete lockdown was announced in the country. It felt
like I would miss all my college experience. But, surprisingly, UBS was ready
with its master plan to deliver what it stands for.
To
start with UBS organized a 30 days induction programme where I got an
opportunity to interact with 30 Global industry leaders across the continents.
They shared their journey of becoming a global leader and the life lessons that
they gained from their experiences and hardships they have faced in their life.
They also gave us an insight of the role that big data and analytics are going
to play in Industry 4.0. All these sessions inspired me to work hard and become
a better version of myself.
UBS took the next step to channelize our energy in a productive manner and started our synchronous live sessions. Using this online platform, professors have made sure to implement a model of experiential learning. After each session, we are assigned group assignments and case study that has helped me to apply the concepts learned in the classroom. It helps me to develop creativity, gain new perspectives, and most importantly bridge the gap of this virtual world as I started interacting with my fellow students. Online tests are conducted regularly to ensure learning and identify the gaps.
Apart from all these things UBS is trying to give us a real time experience of the corporate world. UBS have 15 clubs which are designed in such a way to give us a wholesome experience. Many fun learning activities are organised like Lock down food in which I took part and secured 2nd place. Housie Commander which took away all the boredom out of a lock down Sunday. An event to make our planet green where we must Plant a tree and send a picture. A conference with Parisar Asha Foundation to create awareness in CSR activities.
I got the opportunity to be a part of one of these club or to be precise a student driven private limited organisation namely, Experiential Learning Corporation (ELC) in the capacity of Finance Executive. We have organised various events like PuBG tournament where I along with my team members maintained the revenue record and prepared the Profit Statement. I also extended my help to the Creative Department where I write various E-Mail and attractive captions of our social media handles.
UBS is leaving no stones unturned and are helping us in developing our personality by organising various events namely Mini Case Blazer. Since I was the leader of my team it helped inculcate leadership skills in me, improve my presentation skills, developing analytical skills and most importantly I got to learn about how various organisations around the world are developing different strategies to maintain their positioning in the market.
Our program Director Vijay Tandon leaves no opportunity to appreciate his students. We have the concept of WOW Cards. Students who exhibit exceptional performance receive a WOW card and I received the first WOW Card of this session after showing my commitment to the tasks assigned which has motivated me and encouraged to work even harder. He also came up with an idea of sending out Thought of the Day to motivate and inspire us by inculcating great good ideas to shape our vision. The best part is I have been assigned as the Manager for posting Thought of the Day.
The corporate relation team of UBS organises a minimum of 2 guest lectures every Saturday. In these sessions some of the elite personalities share with us the mantra of how we can prepare ourselves to be ahead in the game by giving us the insight of the current corporate scenario and telling us what skills we need to thrive in this new normal.
UBS always takes care of its students. All the faculty and staff members are just a phone call away and even if students hesitate to contact them, we can connect with our assigned mentor and discuss our problems and they have always given us the right direction. We are also provided with a one-on-one counselling session in which I shared all my strengths and weakness after which I received a proper guidance on how to work on my weakness and emerge as a warrior.
UBS management team has shown courage and confidence to move ahead in this Covid-19 pandemic and made sure that our academic and personal growth is not compromised. With all of this I can proudly say that the journey of my transformation has truly begun, and I have no doubts I will be a completely transformed individual with such great efforts invested by UBS management. I am proud to be a student of Universal Business School and I am proud of my decision to be a part of such a great Institution.

TO THRIVE COMPETE & CONQUER DURING TOUGH TIMES - LEARNING FROM UBS
TO THRIVE COMPETE & CONQUER DURING TOUGH TIMES - LEARNING FROM UBS
Blog By: Nidhi Patle Batch: PGDMBM4CM
Hello everyone, who is reading this. I am going to talk about my
exceptional experience at universal business school during the lockdown. I am a
CEO in making at UBS because here they make CEOs not just the managers. My
virtual induction program started from April 2020. The top business leaders
across various industries were invited to guide us through their journey and
experiences. All the sessions were curated keeping in mind our aspiration and
dreams. The 30 days program speakers were classified into 10 CEOs, 10 industry
faculty and 10 distinguished alumni. This was a once in a lifetime unique
opportunity to interact with business
leaders who have worked in over 20 countries across
5 continents and have studied in some of the best
b-schools in the world. The Covid
situation was really overwhelming, I felt lost but what kept me going was
listening to their stories, their achievements, their challenges, their
failures. It gave me a different perspective of looking at things. I wanted to
learn, I wanted to listen more, and I
wanted to be someone who can be the change.
During
the ongoing induction program our online lectures had commenced. It started off
with 3 subjects marketing, operations management, people, and organization. The
faculties were not only the industry experts but also the great masters in
their field. In the initial days I found it difficult to keep up with the
studies because of the virtual setting. I could not feel the same energy
I would have felt in a normal classroom. Sitting in front of the screen
for two and a half hours
seemed like a struggle. However,
the faculties never felt to keep us engaged. The forum was always open to ask
the questions and clear the queries. Breaking the barriers of the virtual
settings we kept learning. By we, I mean the teachers and the students, it was
equally challenging on both our parts. Soon, we adapted
to the change. We were given access to the digital library of UBS, so
we could refer to the course books. You could also find books written by
Shakespeare, Paulo Coelho, and John Grisham to name a few.
Talking about the extra curriculars, I have participated in various fun activities conducted by different clubs in the college such as mind boggler, housie commander, smirky quirky and more. I am a part of a marketing club and I never realized the importance of clubs until this happened to me. In the club meetings, I get to share my views, ideas and opinions and get to know about others. I learned the importance of working together as a team from the club. A great emphasis is given to experiential learning in UBS and to learn through experience is something more. To make us interact with people across different courses and work together as a team, a mini case blazer was introduced. It helped us get familiar with the case study approach and problem-solving techniques. As case studies are an integral part of the learning process. It was a great opportunity for us to showcase our presentation and communication skills. To monitor our progress throughout the course, a mentor is assigned to 20 plus groups of students. The mentor-mentee session is conducted every Monday wherein we discuss the studies, current affairs and developing requisite traits as an MBA student. Not only our academics but also our mental well-being is taken care of. We are also provided with a professional counsellor with whom we can discuss our personal or professional problems. I really appreciate the initiative taken by the college in considering the importance of sensitive issues such as mental health. This helps cope with the stress one faces because of their studies, peer pressure, family, or other reasons.
Apart
from studies, the faculties invite guest speakers every week. The placement
cell takes care of providing
us with the best of the opportunities even in the times of such crisis.
Shout- out to them for doing such an excellent job and putting in their
efforts just so we do not run out of opportunities. A big thank you. Also thank you for the guest sessions
you organize that gives us a learning experience every
time we listen to them.
My
experience at UBS has just begun and it is a long road to travel. The beginning
might have been challenging but the destination for sure will be beautiful. One
of the few things that I would want you to know. I made the first ever
presentation of my life here. I have connected with the people I have never met
in real life and I would have never done it in normal times. I made a LinkedIn profile
and started working
on it. I have got a hang of doing things and being consumed.
I can see myself changing
from a girl that would procrastinate to a girl who likes to get things
done. Fast forward to today we have three lectures a day and are studying 9 subjects in total.
Things might even get crazier in the coming days but one thing I know for sure
that it will all be worth it. As I mentioned at the very beginning, I am a CEO in making and CEOs do not stop.
They thrive, they compete, they conquer. I cannot wait to be on campus and
experience everything in person, but these virtual walls cannot keep me down
nor can the tough times.

Virtual Experience at Universal Business School during Covid-19 pandemic
Virtual Experience at Universal Business School during Covid-19 pandemic

Life
is a beautiful gift given by God. How we use it depends on us. How we live it
depends on us. Life is not about destiny it is about the journey. This journey
has so much to teach us. We experience both good and bad. How we take it and
understand it depend on us. Normally a life is all about being born, growing,
being interactive with people, making friends, have a family, having a job,
growing old, making so many memories and then when the time comes you dye.
Basically, a life of interactions, giving and sharing love and happiness to
each other.
One
of the most important part of our life is school and college life. We meet new
people, have interactions, do a lot of fun. Especially, at college we have a
lot of classes, events, competitions which are the most important part of our
life where we get so many recognitions. Where you may get to meet your best
friend, who will there with you your whole life, a family. Now, with this
pandemic scenario this way of life seems to be going away from us. This
COVID-19 scenario which has become a part of our life. Where, you don’t get to
meet your friends, your family, your loved one. Life has become hard. Colleges
are closed. Everybody has their life stuck at their home.
But
we humans are extraordinary, we don’t stop. We adjust, no matter what the
situation is our life. Now, we live in this digital world. We have accepted
this way of life to maintain distance and be digitally close.
With this comes a college named UNIVERSAL BUSSINESS SCHOOL. A most prestigious college of recent times. The college where I got admission. The greatest decision I ever made. The college that completely changed my college life experience. UBS makes the best use of the digital world which no other colleges is able to provide. Since the day I joined here there not even a single feel of been missed out. Though I was a late admission UBS made sure that I cope up with other students. Experience is extraordinary. Faculties are so interactive that you don’t feel like you are been left out. All the classes are done through zoom app. Even if anyone misses their classes, they have the opportunity to see the recorded sessions of the class. Teachers are extraordinary. Every detail of the subject is covered. Every doubt of individual student is clarified. That’s how student oriented our professors are. They give their valuable time and efforts to make a difference in our life. Every issue is taken care of. Now, when it comes to being a part of club, we have the opportunity to give interviews for all the clubs. We have been given the liberty to choose any club as we want if got selected in multiple clubs. That’s how liberal our college is.
I became the part of Rotaract Club. A club that focuses on social work and self-development. I am so grateful to be part of. UBS is not only about studies but also about entertainment. Since, it is a pandemic situation our college made sure we don’t get bored at home and we get maximum college life experience. So, they came up with an event called Virtual Lounge, where students get to show case their talents and interact with everyone virtually. I am so grateful for this I got to showcase my talent in front of so may people. I played Guitar and shared some my Poetries which I never thought I will be able to show but I did. A small dream that got fulfilled. With that I got to see so many others talents. We interacted, had lots of talks and fun. UBS gave us this platform to connect with everyone.
Now when it comes to management, there was an event called Mini-Case Blazer. We have to give presentation on a topic. There were many teams. I was a team leader of my team. One of the greatest role I ever got, to manage a team. I had a great experience on that. I had wonderful teammates who respected my decision and agreed to what I said. We worked hard and made sure we present a great presentation as required and fulfill all the criteria’s required. We were appreciated and all my teammates were happy. Even if we don’t win, we won in our hearts. I was proud of my team and myself as well. A small leadership but a small dream fulfilled again. Thanks to UBS again.
There was a competition of Arts and Culture, where I made a portrait. Though I did not win but I got appreciations for which I am grateful for. Now coming to my club Rotaract. The best decision to join this club. Seniors are so great and wonderful that there is no match to them. The hard work they do is amazing. There is so much to learn. The way they organize the events is commendable. We organize many kinds of events which you cannot think of. They sometimes organize events related to life which might change your way of thinking. It’s a new club recently got chattered but, our seniors have made sure it is not behind any club. Now slowly we are learning from them and surely one day we will step into their shoes and take care of our club and we will make sure to take it to much higher level. Now coming to campus, UBS has a wonderful infrastructure. The first Green Business School in India. One of the most beautiful looking college in the midst of nature.
Though
we never entered the campus, UBS made sure to show what it is best at, “To Manage”.
It surely showed us how to manage in any situation. Thus, UBS provided us with
the facilities and made sure we are growing no matter what the situation. Love
and Respect for UBS keeps on growing as the day passes. Eagerly waiting when
the college will open and get a chance to live in this paradise we have been
waiting for. A dream world. A dream life. A longing.

UBS EXPERIENCE DURING PANDEMIC
UBS EXPERIENCE DURING PANDEMIC
Pranit Jagtap Batch: PGDMFC15C (Global MBA)
A wise man once said –
“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I
may remember, involve me and I learn.” Benjamin Franklin’s famous quote has now proved to call it “online experiential learning.” This is
the best quote I can say with respect to present conditions during Covid-19. An
absolute true statement for anyone to live by, especially for all educators!
My journey to UBS with 45 months of work experience in
the Automobile field and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from B.
R. Harne College of Engineering & Technology, Mumbai on my portfolio, I was
quite confident on the day of my UBS interview. There was nothing that would
stop me from going to UBS for my MBA degree. Finally, the day arrived and I was
interviewed by the Chairman and Founder,
Mr.Tarundeep Singh Anand of the Universal
Business School. Everything went on a positive side for me and I was able
to please him how MBA in Marketing specialization would help me. Luckily, one
fine evening, I checked my email and I find a mail from UBS, congratulating me
for my interview performance and it was like " I closed my doors to the
past, opened the door to the future, took a deep breath, stepped on through and
started with a new chapter of my life".
UBS's flexibility towards Virtual Learning.
How Covid-19 didn't stop UBS from sharing the knowledge?

AN ENTHRALLING EXPERIENCE AT UBS DURING THE PANDEMIC
AN ENTHRALLING EXPERIENCE AT
UBS DURING THE PANDEMIC
By: Priyanka Agrawal Batch: CMBA2Y3
It was a beautiful Sunday
at Universal Business
School, Karjat. As usual all the
students were celebrating their Sunday
with lazy lunch hours. Diverse
groups of students were chatting among themselves about the pandemic
that hit the world
few days ago. As soon as the lunch was done, everybody received and email by
the chairman stating that the college would remain closed due to the safety
measures and everybody would have to move to their respective places. All the
students reached their homes safely within 4-5 days. The world became silent
amid the chaos of Covid-19. Weeks passed being home and we started missing our
beautiful UBS.
Then came the time for UBS to showcase its
strengthening strategies to keep its
students refurbished and elite. UBS tried its level best to give the real time
experience of learning for all its students even during the tough times of
world pandemic. While I talk about my personal experience with UBS during these
times of crisis, I must say it has been perplexing in terms of skill building,
knowledge enhancement, regular practice and what not. We had to do our
internships in the organizations which were previously brought by the placement
team of UBS but due to unprecedented times they got abandoned. The team strived hard yet again and provided
100% virtual internships to entire cohorts
of 2019-20 batch.
Then began the seamless experience of online classes that delivered the lectures to students sitting at their homes. This was a proactive initiative by UBS in order to maintain synchronous learning. The onset of online learning was difficult in the beginning and was hard to accept since we were practicing class-room learning from so many years. Initially it was very difficult for everyone to get regulated to this. It was a trouble time for not just the students but also the faculty members. UBS didn't leave any chance to build perfection since all the faculties were trained accordingly and the students were made apprehensive of the same.
From the beginning it was a roller coaster experience
because we, the second year students had a lot of things going on along with
the UBS online classes. Soon after the completion of the internships the
full-fledged classes began for some 4 hours per day. But during this duration
of pandemic, the corporate and industry knowledge was not held back. the
corporate relations team always try to be in touch with the industry
mentors and various
distinguished personalities
and bought them over these
online platforms so that they share their
intensified knowledge across all the sectors of the industry. Till today
I enjoy every guest session that comes from these notable and prominent people.
UBS also made an attempt to have an automated ERP
System for its beloved students to make things easy. This system
helps us with every minute
procedure from the subject
notes, assignments, quizzes
to the payment of fees. It has been
handling this crisis very systematically and strategically. The proactive approach has been very lucrative for
everyone. The only difference that has come across our lives is that we are not
familiarizing a campus life but a full-fledged & coetaneous virtual
experience. The pandemic make might have stopped the actual human interaction but has not stopped us from learning
and assimilating the
knowledge to comprehend our bright futures. The point of view underlying into
this is the judicious approach made by UBS to keep delivering the undisturbed
curve of learning towards its students which is much appreciated.

Reasons Why you should pursue a BBA Degree
All the students who finish their schooling have to select an option for their graduation degree. If they wish to make a career in the field of management and business administration and have a career filled with lucrative opportunities, then they should look into completing their undergraduate degree in BBA.
